A Brief History
Gamharia. An Erstwhile small English medium School of Gamharia entered the K.P.S Family in 1995 with a little more than 600 students, 20 teachers and a building consisting of 16 class rooms under the chairmanship of Late A.P.R Nair (Founder Chairman) the visionary and the Vice-Chairperson Mrs.Vijayam Kartha. The School was fortunate to have Mrs. Vatsala Ramkrishnan, a diligent lady as its first Principal.
Over the last 19 years we have undergone a drastic change with our hard work and determination towards The K.P.S Family.
Barak Obama truly says, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person; or If we wait for some other time. We are the change that we seek.”
It’s with these words that the School saw another ray of enlightenment and change in the year 2005, under the leadership of the dynamic personality, Mr. Sharat Chandran (our former principal and present director) and became a reputed School of the area with an extension on its right which emerged for the Pre-Primary wings. Several spacious class rooms also came up holding classes from nursery to Std VIII. We also have activity hall, staff rooms, Laboratories, Library and a Computer Lab with 30 computers in it.
We, cannot deny that present is nothing without an eminent past ….The year 2005, gave us another opportunity to celebrate our sublime victory, when our students Ashish Mishra and Dhananjay Mishra bagged the first prize in Mahabharata Quiz held in XLRI, which proved that we, in K.P.S not only focus in academics but also inculcate Indian values in our students.
The year 2006, was yet another overwhelming year in the history of K.P.S Gamharia, when the scouts and guides of our School were able to bag the prestigious “PRIME MINISTER SHIELD AWARD” for their social work in the village areas. Our School not only energizes students in academics but also in co-curricular activities, which was witnessed in the year 2011 by our students, Miss Aparna who won the silver medal in The 34th National Games in Karate held in Ranchi.
Success is the journey from one failure to another without loosing any type of enthusiasm. And what we need today is to “Act , – act in the living present ! Heart within, and God O’everhead !”.’Act ‘ for such an institution which taught us that – In this School…we do second chances, we apologize … we forgive ; we respect each other, we keep our promises; we never give up… encourage one another ; we laugh often … we belong… we are a family …
